The CNA job provides a way for people to begin working in the nursing industry with less time in school. Many CNA’s continue their education while they work as a CNA, seeking to become a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The job of a CNA mostly entails taking vitals of patients, gathering information, daily care of patients such as feeding, bathing etc. Since the CNA spends a large amount of time around the patients, it is their responsibility to act as a liaison, relaying any vital information to the Nurses and Doctors regarding any changes in a patient’s behavior or health status. The prerequisites to become a CNA include a high school graduate diploma, or a passed GED test, and to complete a course or training in Certification of Nursing Assistance. Courses are offered at local colleges, technical school, hospitals, or the Red Cross. More recently, however, CNA training online has become a popular option as well.
